It’s been an interesting couple of days around about the joys of work, studying and running that Edinburgh Marathon! Last week I nipped into town after work and after an extensive wait managed to meet the legend that is Richard Ashcroft! A little known fact about me is that the first gig I ever went to was seeing Richard shortly after he released his debut solo album in 2000. It was awesome to meet him, and I was chuffed to bits that he took the time to sign some items for me. A couple have sold (pending payment) so there’s an awesome signed disc from The Verve’s iconic album Urban Hymns remaining, which is coming up for grabs shortly.
The week previously I popped down to Manchester for the Great City Games (enduring a torturous delayed overnight bus journey to get back just in time for work.. dedication or what?!?) and managed to pick up more than a few goodies. Among those donating bibs for my fundraising auctions were the the more than lovely Lucy Hatton and the more than awesome Greg Rutherford. I brought home 16 bibs in total, all of which will be coming to auction soon in this, the year of the Olympic Games!
Also added into the pot in recent days were some awesome boxing items, including a Mini Glove signed by The Mailman himself Charlie Flynn! I also clocked in mini gloves from the likes of Michael Buffer, Conor Benn, Johnny Nelson and Jim Watt, all of which should be coming your way via auction soon 🙂
All in all some pretty cool additions to the auction stock, keep your eyes on the blog and ebay listings in the coming week or so to snap them up.
