I did some football hunting today, but I’ll start with some awesome successes from Scouting For Girls. Long term followers of my blog might remember my last meeting with the band when they signed several items, including an awesome doodle from Greg.
First up was lead singer Roy Stride, who wrote out the key lyric from “Famous” with the words also forming the title of their second album. He added a doodle of a television under the lyrics, and signed.
Next up was Greg Churchouse himself the man famous for doing amazing artworks. I was delighted he took the time to create an AWESOME self portrait for me to auction, before posing next to it. That’s certainly one way to make an easy comparison between portrait and self 😀
To cap it off, here’s a snap of me with the band. Good times!
Over the course of the day, I also managed to get to two football grounds and added some new items for auction, including some new signed goalie gloves! Happy to sign were two keepers who have been called up to the Scotland squad in recent years, Cammy Bell (Kilmarnock), Craig Samson (St Mirren) as well as Dundee United’s Steve Banks.
There’s Cammy shortly after shutting out Celtic and helping Killie to their first win at Celtic Park in 57 years! The victorious Killie team also signed an Xmas Card for auction, making an awesome item for the Christmas auctions!
Last night I also managed to get a fresh pair of gloves signed by Hibernian ‘keeper Ben Williams and Motherwell no1 Darren Randolph. Tomorrow will see these gloves and LOADS more of other items.
I am VERY close to the £10k mark, which obviously excites me quite a bit. It’s a major milestone in Twelveby12, and I cannot wait to smash through it!
It’s a wee bit blurry because of the night lights at Fir Park… there’s a MASSIVE spotlight which plays havoc with any form of photography there are night, but nonetheless, there’s Ben with his signed glove as well.
