A Busy Few Days!

As you will have seen from other posts in the last few days, I’ve been REALLY busy over the last few days, and much of the time has allowed me to bring some awesome items in for auction.

First up the football hunting… with the Spanish Olympic team in town, as well as Norwich and Huddersfield visiting for friendlies this week, I got some rather nice items for auctioning.  While most collectors got excited about Spain being in town, the main football bonus for me this week was John Ruddy travelling north with Norwich giving me a chance to get the pair of match worn goalie gloves have signed.

John, as always, was awesome and signed the pair when he came out.  These will be added into the auctions this week, to help raise even more money in the run up to The Ultimate Doctor Who Art Auction 2012.  The rest of the team multi signed a birthday card for me to auction, so that will be coming up for grabs as well.

I’ve caught a fair few of the Spanish team in recent days as well, including Chelsea star and scorer of the 4th goal in the European Championship Finals Juan Mata and Manchester United goalie David de Gea.

Among the items signed was this awesome goalie glove from de Gea, which took persistence, but I got there in the end.

Following on from the footy hunting, I took a trip down to Turnberry yesterday for the practice round of the Senior Open Championship.  It was a long journey down, but well worth it in the end, as I got to meet some of the real legends of the game.  Among those to sign balls for auction were Gary Player, Tom Watson and Tom Lehman.  It’s hard to take photos of the ball with the signature showing in full, but here’s the Gary Player one for you.

And there I am to the right with the man himself!

It’s a bit crazy at the golf, so I only managed to get one snap with a player and their signed ball, but it was a GOOD one.  Roger Chapman has taken the Senior Tour by storm this year, winning the Senior US Open and The Senior PGA, meaning he’s the man to beat this week at Turnberry.  He was kind enough to pose with me after signing the ball.

The Dr Who countdown continues later today, as does the packing of the items sold in the last couple of days.  With the auction under a week away, the next donation to my chosen charities will be made in early August, and I am hoping it will be a big one!
